Everything you have done wrong, every person you have wronged, every sin you have committed has been forgiven. You are free. The price has already been paid by a life of the only son of God. The name above all names, the king of all kings…the only name of salvation, Jesus Christ. He willingly laid down his life for you, so that your sins will be washed away. Salvation is free, but the cost of being a disciple of Jesus Christ will cost you. The price of discipleship is high, but the reward is great.
Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ is not a game. It is not something that is simple. It is more than just going to church Sunday mornings or putting a Bible on a shelf in your living room. Being a follower of Christ is not choosing what parts you want to believe and what parts you will ignore. It is not something that will gain you popularity. It is something that can be difficult and hard. But, it is the only real freedom there is.
So ask yourself, are you willing to surrender your life to Christ? Are you willing to face the hardships, the suffering, the persecution that will follow?
Surrendering your heart to Christ at times will cost you popularity. It may cost you friendships, exclusion for others. It could cost you a promotion and at times you may feel as if you are alone. You will have to be willing to suffer maltreatment for Christ, and it could perhaps at times, cost you your very life.
You will have to fight against your body, and say “No” to temptations. You will have to say “No” to this world when everyone else is saying “it is okay.” You will have to forsake your desires and affections. You must be willing to leave all you have for Him. You will have to discipline yourself. You may find yourself walking a small, narrow path while other you know are walking an easier course. You must be willing to step out of the crowd, even if no one else is willing to follow Jesus. You must be willing to stand, even if you are the only person standing. You must be willing to renounce your reputation and status…deny yourself and take up your cross.
But you see, in those times, when you stand up in your faith, even when you are all alone; in those times when you are not ashamed to proclaim yourself a follower of Christ; in those times when the world is against you and you seem to be walking alone, you are not.
He is there walking along side of you. Your life now becomes His. You see, when you surrender your life to Jesus, your life is no longer yours. It is now His life. Your future is no longer your future, it is now His future. Your treasure is no longer your treasure, it is His treasure.
Never forget what the Bible has said: For God sent His Son to die for us, so we may be forgiven in grace.
God has brought every one of us to this place. Not one of us is here by accident and it is the goodness of God and the mercy of God that has brought you to this place. You have heard of the suffering of Jesus Christ, who upon that cross gave His life for us so we can be free of our sins and wrongdoings. Upon that cross He died. He gave his life willingly so that He might live for us and that He might bear our sins and iniquities upon that cross, purchasing our salvation.
He is the only man who has willingly given his life for you. His love for you has endured above any other. And He will be coming back again for you. You need to make peace and surrender your life to Jesus. This is not a game. He is coming back as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. At the end of ages, He will come vigorously out of heaven to conquer against those who stand against Him. And you must make peace on His terms. You need to settle out of court with Him. You need to give your life to Him. You do not want to go into that final day of conflict with Christ.
He is the King of King and He is the Lord of lord; and at the end of the age, He will bolt out of heaven on a white horse and His garments will be dripped in blood of His enemies. He is coming back to judge and condemn those who do not follow Him.
But, you do not have to be among those left behind. There is hope. For He will be ruthless in the execution of His Justice, but today He offers you mercy. He officers you hope. He opens His arms to you.
The Bible tells that you must be willing to surrender your life to Christ. Completely. In Full. Nothing is any longer yours – it is His. We must follow Him. It is not an option, it is God’s word. It is the truth, it is what it is.
He is not playing. The Bible tells us: He is coming to dominate.
There is salvation in no other name, for there is no other name under heaven to men, whereby we are saved.
He is pressing you for a decision. You cannot hit the mute button any longer in your heart, you must answer Him. You must stand up and give your heart to Jesus.
For He will be ruthless in the execution of His Justice unless you take His mercy today. He will agree to terms of peace but they are His terms of peace, not ours. And His terms of peace are very simply this:
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” And He is calling out to you today Jesus said: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
What is our Lord saying to you?
